Amanda Villanueva retires at age 28
Despite being just 28 years young, high-flying open spiker Amanda Villanueva has decided to hang up her shoes for good.
Though she did not disclose her reason for calling it a day, Villanueva has been slowly venturing into other endeavors since the start of the calendar year.
“Every end is a new beginning,” opened Villanueva’s letter.
First off, Villanueva thanked her head coach in St.
James Academy Sheila Lauchengco for being her mentor up to this day.
“I learned the value of hard work and sacrifice. Volleyball became my ticket to endless possibilities,” shared Villanueva.

The 5-foot-4 spiker arrived at in La Salle, before transferring to Adamson.
Villanueva led the Lady Falcons to the UAAP Season 76 Beach Volleyball crown.
In the indoor scene, she would also help Adamson to Final Four appearances.
